January is almost over and I slipped up already on my weekly blog resolution. I will have to keep trying harder to keep up :-) In the meantime though we have been super busy and so I am excited to announce that we have launched powerplant you can take it for a spin and let us know what you think about it. It is only the minimum viable product however it gives a basic understand of one of the main features or the app.

If you are asking yourself what's she talking about?? then perhaps I should explain a little more about powerplant.

powerplant is a open source software that allows anyone planning a garden to utilize companion planting and other permaculture practices. It provides intelligent suggestions to help the gardener by advising the best planting schedules and combinations of crops to maximize the garden's yield.

At the moment this software is still in development and if you like what you see and would like to work with us we are still looking for people who would like to contribute in terms of coding and also funding / donations for this project. Feel free to sign up to our project management system to view the open tickets we have.

That's not all :-) we have also put in our application for the Google Summer of Code Mentoring programm and prospective students can already view our list of ideas if they wish to work for us. Hopefully our application will be successful, I will keep you posted on this one.
